3D Scanning
Advanced Digital Imaging Technology
It is important to our surgeons at Beacon Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons that your diagnosis is accurate. To help determine how we can help you, we will often take 3D scans during your first visit. If you have been referred to our office, your general dentist has likely taken traditional X-rays of your mouth and will send a copy of these images to our office. Prior to undergoing a surgical procedure, we take 3D scans of your mouth and face. These digital images allow us to view your bones and tissues from virtually every angle.
Sophisticated diagnostic imaging allows our doctors to make the most accurate diagnosis of complex oral and maxillofacial problems and plan the treatment for the condition that ensures optimal correction and recovery. These scans can help by eliminating surprises during treatment, preventing unnecessary procedures, and better preparing us for your upcoming surgery, which results in less operating time and fewer complications for you.
Benefits of 3D Scanning
- A scan is completed in only a few seconds.
- 3D scans expose patients to less radiation than traditional X-rays.
- Digital images are able to be immediately viewed by your care team.
- Fewer complications or surprises arise during surgery.
- These scans assist in accurate diagnosing and treatment planning.
